On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Carbondale Area High School will host its third annual Career Exploration Day. This daylong event gives all students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to learn from and work alongside industry leaders from various career pathways.
Students in grades 7 and 8 will engage in community service with local agencies such as NeighborWorks NEPA, Carbondale Parks & Recreation, Lackawanna Heritage Trail, and United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA.
Freshmen students will visit the Lackawanna County Career Technology Center (CTC) to explore programs available for their sophomore year. Following the trip to CTC, students will attend “Adulting 101” mini sessions led by faculty, covering topics like personal wellness and social media. Sophomores will take the ASVAB test and then attend career presentations.
Juniors and seniors will attend career pathway sessions led by over 70 presenters, many of whom are Carbondale Area alumni. Presenters will share how their experiences at CA and beyond helped them succeed in their fields. Students will also participate in a college fair with representatives from over 25 local universities.
We are requiring all students to participate fully in this valuable day of learning. For any questions or concerns, parents/guardians may contact Mr. Gabriel, Assistant Principal, or Mrs. Pidgeon, Career Counselor.
