Track and Field Recap_4.11.22

 

Congratulations to the Carbondale Area Track & Field teams on their performances against Holy Cross.

On the Varsity side, freshman Kate Korty ran a new school record in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:42.1. The old record was held by her sister, Jenn.

The Junior High Girls won their meet by a score of 56-11. Mehlayia St. Hilaire placed first in two events (100 meter and 400 meter), notably running a 1:14 in the 400 meter dash.  Gigi Granville ran an impressive 2:51 in the 800 meter dash, while  Athena Tonkin added to the Chargerettes victory with a 200 meter time of 33.6, which led her to take home first place in the 200 meter dash.  Victoria Sanabria also earned first place finishes for the Chargerettes with impressive throws in the Shot Put and the Discus.

The Jr. High Boys lost a close one, 32-38 .  Isaiah Camacho took three first places for the Chargers in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash.  Isaiah ran an impressive time of 13.0 in the 100 meter dash.  Logan Spall also took home two first places for the Chargers with impressive throws with the Shot Put and the Discus.
