Our next Senior Spotlight is Mock Trial Team Captain and Lawyer Shauna Durst. Shauna is the daughter of Sean and Melissa Durst. She has three brothers: William (a 2021 CA Alumni), and Kalob (a sixth grader at CAES), and Bennett (a kindergartener at CAES).
Shauna is a four- year member of Academic Honors and the National Honor Society, where she serves as Vice-President. She is also a member the National Business Honor Society. She is on the High Honor Roll every quarter. She balances her academics as a member of several clubs, including PJAS, FBLA, Student Council, Math Club, Yearbook, Unified Track and Field, and Watershed. She serves as a tutor with the Physics Club and a Peer Mentor with the Future Teachers Club. She is the Vice-President of both the Science and Technology Club and SADD. She is also employed as a Busser/Hostess at Alexander’s. She enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Shauna’s favorite subjects are Biology and Math. Her favorite CA memories are “Shauna Time” in Mr. Borosky’s Physics class or the McDonald’s Dinners with the Mock Trial team. She plans to attend Pittsburgh University or Lehigh University with the goal of becoming a Pediatric Physician’s Assistant or a Biomedical Engineer. The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Shauna on her achievements thus far and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
