Our next Senior Spotlight for the Class of 2024 is Golfer Jacob John Berg. Jacob is the son of Amy and Robert Berg. He has two brothers: Joshua, who is a 2023 CA alum, and Jordan, who is an 8th Grader here at the high school.
Jacob is a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll. In addition to Golf, Jacob is a six-year member of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) and Student Council, as well as Unified Bocce/Track and Field (where he serves as a captain). Additionally, he played Soccer and Track and Field here. He is working towards the rank of Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts Troop 8.
Jacob is employed at Elk View Country Club and is completing an internship with the Carbondale Area Technology Department. He enjoys golf, soccer, bocce, track, swimming, going to the beach, and rooting for the North Carolina Tarheels Basketball team. His favorite subject his Computers, and his favorite CA memory is the golf match versus Lakeland when he made the 15-foot putt to win the match for the Chargers.
Jacob plans to attend Penn State University to major in Computer Engineering and play golf. He plans to one day run his own computer business. The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Jacob on his achievements thus far and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
