Carbondale Area hosted a Senior Night Ceremony for the Softball team on April 12 against the Riverside Vikings. The Chargerettes won 9-5. The lone senior recognized was Kacydi Brewen, a four-year member of the varsity squad and team captain who had an RBI in the win. Kacydi, who is playing left field this season, is the daughter of Christina and Jacob Brewen. She is a three-year member of the varsity soccer team. She is also involved in yearbook club, Prom committee, SADD, Student Council, Spanish club, and is part of the Future Business Leaders of America. Kacydi is also a member of the National Honor Society and has achieved Distinguished Honors. She is also the senior class President. Her future plans are to attend Penn State to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
“It was beautiful, my teammates and coaches did an amazing job making the night special for me,” noted Brewen. Her coach, Coach Monique Cobb, explained Kacydi’s importance to the team. “Kacydi is our only returning senior,” said Coach Cobb. “She’s a four-year member of the varsity team and is a dedicated player and natural leader. She will play left field this season.”
Kacydi still has numerous games left in her career and looks to add more wins with her Chargerettes teammates to her resume. #CarbondaleAreaClassof2021
