On December 10, Carbondale Area seniors attended a field trip to Lackawanna College to learn about careers in Advanced Manufacturing. The Lackawanna College Office of Continuing Education, in conjunction with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center (NEPIRC), invited interested students to an information session on career opportunities in advanced manufacturing. Students not only learned about careeropportunities, they also viewed some locally made products and became oriented on skill sets needed to be successful in the workplace. Bill Schoen from Lackawanna College and Eric Esoda from NEPIRC led the session.
“My experience was quite interesting, I loved learning about all the different kinds of manufacturers and the processes our products go through in order to be used by us the consumers,” explained Zach Siggins, a senior who attended the field trip.
