Senior Alyssa Cosklo was the Carbondale Area representative for the NEIU Scholar of the Year. She attended ceremony with Mrs. Holly Sayre, Superintendent of Schools. The ceremony was held at the Lackawanna CTC building for all of the schools in our area. One student from each district was chosen and had to record an interview to be shown at the ceremony. Each student was also awarded a $50 monetary reward.
“I was extremely proud and excited when I learned that I was selected as Scholar of the Year for Carbondale Area,.” explained Cosklo. “This recognition further validated all of my hard work and effort here at CA. I was honored to represent CA at this ceremony and I cannot wait to see where more opportunities like this take me.”
Alyssa plans on attending the University of Scranton on a full tuition scholarship and majoring in Biology/Pre-Medicine, with the hopes of one day becoming a Dermatologist.
