Marywood University Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program is partnering with YSocialWork to offer an exciting new opportunity for High School students. You are invited to attend the High School Student Series to learn more about the social work field and how we work collaboratively with other professions. Our one-hour webinars offer students the opportunity to meet with industry leaders in social work to discuss issues relevant to career and academic development and answer any questions or concerns they may have about social work education and practice. You can receive 3 hours of Community Service for attending this 3-part series. You need to register and submit 3 questions (they can be anything you might want to know more about) in order to get the Community Service Hours.

We look forward to having many of you attend.
This semester, YSocialWork will host three webinars to provide a platform for youth to explore and inquire about topics such as:
- Social Workers as Social Entrepreneurs – Sunday 2/21/2021 @ 7:00pm
- Failures, Successes, and Survivals of Social Justice – Sunday 3/28/2021 @ 7:00pm
- Social Work Across Disciplines – Sunday 4/11/2021 @ 7:00pm
Kicking off the 2021 High School Experiential Classroom is Lakeya Cherry, DSW, MSSW, CEO of The Network for Social Work Management, where she will discuss her journey as a social worker, as a nonprofit executive, and as a national expert in racial equity and diversity. Under Lakeya’s leadership, the Network has grown globally and introduced new, innovative programming that meets the needs of social work and human services leaders everywhere. If you know a high school student interested in social entrepreneurship or social work, or both, then this conversation is for them!
Social Workers as Social Entrepreneurs

(Community Service Hours Available)
By the end of this webinar, high school students will:

- Develop a better understanding of how social work competencies, skills, and behaviors are useful in becoming a successful social change agent, nonprofit leader, or entrepreneur.
Instructions: For 1.0 hour of community service, please direct your students to ysocialwork.careers/highschoolstudentseries to submit three questions to ask Dr. Cherry for our 2/21 webinar. Questions should either address academic and/or career development, social workers as social entrepreneurs or social innovators, or any dilemmas faced while leading a professional organization nationally.
