At the 2021 Virtual State Leadership Conference, three Carbondale Area students earned awards. Under the direction of Miss Licia Olivetti, junior Emily Kelly placed 1st in Networking Infrastructures. Sophomore Julia Gorel placed 5th in Introduction to Business, and senior Deana Mancuso placed 7th in Help Desk.
Emily was honored at the April School Board Meeting for her accomplishment. She has also qualified to attend the National Leadership Conference in end of June. “Achieving a first place at the state FBLA competition was very exciting,” noted Kelly. “Miss Olivetti threw a watch party in the cafeteria to watch the state live stream. This made the competition special, since it was otherwise virtual.”
