Carbondale Area Hosts Annual Academic Honors Night, Brian Repsher Named Class of 2023 Valedictorian

Carbondale Area recently held their annual Academic Honors Ceremony for students in Grades 7-12 who have excelled academically. Students are eligible for Academic Honors if they have a cumulative average of 93% or higher. Senior members read passages and quotes regarding academic success and sang musical selections, while Mr. Michael Murphy, faculty speaker chosen by the senior class, gave a speech to conclude the evening. His message was very clear- No matter where life takes you be sure to include others no matter what their limitations may be.

Dylan Ofner began the evening with the singing of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner” followed by The Pledge of Allegiance led by Joshua Berg.  Later in the ceremony, Mary Miles performed “Changed for Good” from the Broadway show Wicked and  Natalie Skeba  sang “Almost There” from The Princes and the Frog.  Robert Constantine, Julia Murphy, Brian Repsher, along with the help of members of the CAHS Staff, Mr. Farrell, Principal,  Mr. Lawrence A. Gabriel III,  presented medals and awards to the members.

The top three students in each grade were honored.
