Carbondale Area Hosts Annual National Honor Society Ceremony
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 7:00PM, the National Honor Society Ceremony was held in the Carbondale Area High School Auditorium. The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society Ceremony is an event held to honor all high achieving students who have a 90% average or higher and who also display the qualities of character, leadership, and service.
During the ceremony, senior member, Eliana Connolly performed “Don’t Dream- It’s Over” by Crowded House; sophomore member, Clara Crandall, preformed “Soon” by Thumbelina; senior member, Ava Peregrin, sang the “National Anthem;” and sophomore member, Julian Fedorchak, played the entering and exiting processional on piano. Ryleigh Brink was the Master of Ceremonies and led off the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance. Ian Dzielak and Hannah Mccaffrey read about the history of the National Honor Society, while Caitlyn Burns and Eva Balderas read about the Honor and Values of the National Honor Society. President Hong Tran discussed the Leadership pillar and led the inductees in the National Honor Society pledge. Vice-President Abigail Wall read about the Scholarship pillar, while Secretary Rylie Toolan informed the audience about the Service pillar. Treasurer Ava Peregrin explained the Character pillar.
The National Honor Society prides itself on the qualities of character, leadership, scholarship, and service. The importance of possessing these qualities was explained to those in attendance by the officers. The evening concluded with closing remarks from High School Principal, Mr. Joseph Farrell. Thank you to National Honor Society advisors, Mr. Carm Perri and Mrs. Alyssa Mayne for organizing a wonderful ceremony to honor these National Honor Society students. And thank you to the students who make our Carbondale Area community very proud.
