Carbondale Area Represented at NEPA Girls in STEM Competition

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, 7th and 8th grade girls proudly represented Carbondale Area at the NEPA Girls in STEM Competition held at Scranton High School. Competing against teams from across the region, they showcased their skills in programming, science, mathematics, and engineering.

Throughout the day, teams collaborated to complete a quality control lab, similar to procedures in a real-world laboratory. They tackled challenging math riddles, worked through programming and coding tasks, and wrapped up the competition by designing and building a device capable of launching a butterfly into the air.

While every team successfully completed each challenge, the true lesson of the day and event was that STEM is not just about achieving success—it’s about the journey of discovery, learning from mistakes, and pushing the limits of creativity and innovation.
