On Saturday, April 26th, Sylvia Condida, KJ Staples, and Breann Wagner represented Carbondale Area in a local competition for the National Civics Bee. The competition drew 14 students from across Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties. In order to be selected for the competition, students needed to submit essays that identified community problems and explored opportunities for improvement with the collaboration of local officials. The students competed in two rounds of quizzes with the top 5 moving on to defend their essays. The top five finalists included our very own, Sylvia Condida. Sylvia’s essay addressed the issue of inflation within her community. #CAProud
