The 2025 Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) State Competition took place at Penn State University on May 19 and 20. Students from more than nine regions across Pennsylvania gathered to showcase their scientific research and compete at the state level. Carbondale Area students once again achieved impressive results, earning multiple first-place awards in categories such as Chemistry and Behavioral Science. First-place honors were awarded to Caitlyn Burns, Olivia Lawler, Aiden Mannis, William Murphy, and Hong Tran. All other Carbondale Area participants earned second-place awards, continuing our tradition of excellence in PJAS.

Caitlyn Burns, Stephanie Baker, and Rylie Toolan (pictured left to right below) were presented the Perseverance Award for six years of participation in PJAS at the state level.

Congratulations to all! #CAProud
