Our next Senior Spotlight for the Carbondale Area Class of 2025 is Drama Club Co-President, Madysen “Mads” Usher. Madysen is the daughter of Carissa Usher (CA Class of 2008). She has one brother, Ayden Usher. Madysen has performed in three plays so far at CA (A Mama in Fiddler on the Roof Jr., Jack’s Mom in Into the Woods, Jr., and Ensemble/Mrs. Luce in Little Shop of Horrors. She is ready to take part in her final Drama Club production in her high school career as Drake in Annie Jr., on Friday March 21 and Saturday, March 22 at 7pm and Sunday, March 23 at 2pm.
Madysen has also been involved in several other extracurricular activities in her time here at CAHS. She serves as President of the Future Teachers Club and has been a tutor and peer mentor. She has also served as Treasurer of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Media Specialist for the Astronomy Club, and Treasurer and Secretary of the French Club. She is also a member of the Science and Technology Club, Library Club, Medical Careers Club, Yearbook/Photography Club, and Student Council. She is also currently completing a co-op at the Edison Early Learning Center. She is also on the Honor Roll.
Madysen’s favorite subject is English Language Arts. Her favorite CA memory is making new friends and spending time with them during Fiddler on the Roof Jr. rehearsals. She enjoys writing, reading, acting, watching musicals, drawing, travelling, photography, spending quality time with family, friends, and pets, and helping those in need. She plans to attend Marywood University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with the goal of eventually becoming a Childhood Psychologist.
The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Madysen on her achievements thus far and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
