Our first Senior Spotlight for the Carbondale Area Class of 2025 is Rylie “Cousin” Toolan. Rylie is the daughter of Joanna Catanzaro and Frank Toolan. She has one sister, Cassie Catanzaro, a member of the Carbondale Area Class of 2010. Rylie is a four-sport athlete here at the school (Cheerleading, Soccer, Basketball, and Track & Field).
Rylie excels in the classroom, as she is a member of Academic Honors and the National Honor Society. She is also involved in several other clubs and activities: Yearbook/Photography Club, Library Club, Pennsylvania Juniors Academy of Science (PJAS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Teachers Club, Aevidum, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Science and Technology Club, and Student Council. She also takes dual enrollment courses through Lackawanna College and is a waitress at Elkview Country Club.
Rylie’s favorite subject and CA memory is Miss Dombrosky’s Advanced Composition class. She enjoys reading, writing poems, yoga, nature walks, listening to music, and annotating. Her future plans are to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality with the ultimate goal of becoming an international flight attendant. The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Rylie on her achievements thus far and wishes her the best in her future endeavors.
