Our next Senior Spotlight is CA Drill Team member Sarah Parry. Sarah is the daughter of Debra and Joe Parry. She has one brother, Alan, who is a freshman at the high school, and one sister, Gabby, who is in Pre-K at the elementary school. Sarah is a member of the Honor Roll and currently attends the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County (CTCLC).
In addition to being a flag-twirler on the drill team for five years, Sarah is a member of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) and Science and Technology Club. She is also a Student Ambassador at the Career Technology Center (CTC), where she helps give tours of the facility and mentor younger students. Excellence in the classroom, leadership at school and in the community, the ability to serve those in need, and a strong commitment to providing positive mentoring are qualities that are required of CTCLC Ambassadors. Outside of school, she is a member of the Girl Scouts and is a volunteer firefighter. She is employed as a nurse’s aide at the Carbondale Nursing Home.
Sarah’s favorite subject is English. Her favorite CA memory are Spirit Days with her best friend Cayden Watts. She enjoys reading and taking care of others- she will expand on this as she looks to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at King’s College in Nursing to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Sarah on her achievements thus far and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
“Life is like a stream. Sometimes it goes fast, sometimes it goes slow, and sometimes you’ve just got to go with the flow.”- Sarah Parry, Carbondale Area Class of 2022 #CarbondaleAreaClassof2022
