Our next Senior Spotlight for the Carbondale Area Class of 2025 is Chargerettes Softball Player Stephanie “Stef” Baker. Stephanie is the daughter of Beth and Robert Baker (CA Class of 1991). She has one brother, Collin, a sophomore at the school. Stephanie plays Left Field and First Base on the Softball Team and has played Volleyball at Forest City for three seasons. She also plays Miss C Softball and Valley Venom Travel Softball.
In addition to athletics, Stephanie is also involved in several other clubs and activities here at CA. In the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) she earned the “Perseverance Award” for her six-year commitment to the club- she also earned a First Place Award at three of the Regional Competitions. She is also a member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Science and Technology Club, Astronomy Club, and Spanish Club. She is also the Team Manager for the Chargerettes Basketball Team, where she kept the scorebook for several years at games. She coaches and works the food stand for youth softball as well. She is also enrolled in dual enrollment courses through Lackawanna College. Stephanie enjoys coaching travel and recreational youth softball, being in a Bowling League at Idle Hours, shopping with friends, and listening to music.
Stephanie’s favorite subject is English. Her favorite CA memory is being voted “Best Techie” in the Class Superlatives in the yearbook. Her future plans are to attend Basic Training in South Carolina for the Army National Guard (she is currently a member of the National Guard) and earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology to become and FBI agent after serving in the Army. The Carbondale Area School District congratulates Stephanie on her achievements thus far and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
